The technology, media and telecom (TMT) sector will move decisively from AI experimentation to enterprise-wide deployment of agentic systems in 2026, marking the end of siloed pilots, according to the 2026 Randstad Digital Industry Predictions.
The report describes 2026 as the year of “The Great Integration,” where autonomous AI agents operate at scale within robust governance frameworks.
“In 2026, AI will stop being a standalone initiative and become part of the enterprise operating stack,” said Milind Shah, Managing Director, Randstad Digital India. “Organisations that fail to integrate AI with governance and security from the start will struggle to scale.”
TMT Predictions for 2026
- Enterprises will deploy autonomous AI agents to execute complex, multi-step workflows.
- AI orchestration platforms and Explainable AI (XAI) will become critical for managing scale, transparency, and compliance.
- Routine IT tasks such as coding and debugging will increasingly be automated, shifting human roles toward workflow orchestration and oversight.
- Cybersecurity will evolve into a multidisciplinary function, responding to AI-driven attacks and expanding digital attack surfaces.
The report also highlights that hyperscale data centres, AI-optimised chips, 5G expansion and early 6G development will form the backbone of autonomous digital infrastructure, while talent investment remains the ultimate enabler of sustained growth.
